A SAP assessment models the energy performance of a dwelling and is used to demonstrate the applicable Part L requirements. The useful part is not simply the result: it is understanding which parts of the design are driving it, and resolving them without losing sight of buildability, cost or architectural intent.

What is included
The assessment scope is agreed around your project stage: design-stage SAP calculations, a review of any performance shortfalls, and the relevant reports for the design team and Building Control. As-built assessment and new-build EPC lodgement can be included where required; your quotation will identify which stages are covered.
Information to send
Send dimensioned plans, elevations and sections, the site location and orientation, and your proposed fabric and services specification. Include window and door data, heating and hot water, ventilation, renewables and junction details where available. For completion work, also provide the final specification and available test and construction evidence.
Scope, fees and timing
Commission the design assessment while the specification can still change. If you need an extension calculation or have inherited a design-stage assessment from another consultant, include the existing information so we can confirm the appropriate route and any additional work. Fee and programme depend on dwelling types, information quality and the stages required.
