Overview
A Part G water-efficiency calculation uses the proposed sanitary fittings, appliances and flow rates to assess calculated daily water use. If an initial specification does not achieve the applicable requirement, individual fittings can be reviewed rather than changed indiscriminately.

What is included
A whole-dwelling water-use calculation based on the agreed fittings schedule, with the inputs and applicable target recorded. Where the specification needs attention, the review identifies which fittings or performance assumptions should be reconsidered.
Information to send
Provide the sanitaryware schedule, WC flush volumes, tap and shower flow rates, bath capacities and relevant appliance water-use data. Include planning conditions or other information specifying a project water-efficiency target. Manufacturer performance data is more useful than product photographs.
Scope, fees and timing
If products have not been selected, identify which inputs are provisional so a coordinated performance specification can be considered. Substitutions should be checked against the calculation before final issue. Water-efficiency calculations do not cover every hot-water safety or sanitation requirement within Part G.
